Veterans do not differ from us if they don’t have any health problems. But if they are injured and they got blind, their circadian rhythm changes – meaning that they are unable to recognize whether the light is on or off, whether there is sunshine. Normally, people have biological clock that makes them sleepy at night and prepare the body to wake up when the sun is rising in the morning. This system is disrupted in blind veterans as their eyes are damaged.
