This is a real moral dilemma! My gut instinct is to save the life because I could never knowingly not help someone. On the other hand if I could carry on doing science and I could help other scientists save lots more lives then this option would be the greatest good for the most people, and in my mind that’s the right thing.

Hmm that’s a hard question alright. I would probably choose the former because you can still get hired elsewhere even after you are fired, but you can’t take the life lost back.

I think I would save the life. Someone, somewhere will eventually do the science but that one life is irreplaceable.
