• Question: how long does it take to get a PhD in physics?

      In the UK: 3.5-4 years. Most PhD students receive money from the government so they can live while studying. These money is normally supplied for 3.5-4 years so everyone wants to finish before the money run out. But just completing these years won’t get you a PhD, you need to write a thesis (basically a book of your original research) that is accepted by the university!
