Not at all. I don’t think I would be remiss in saying that all religions preach (ha!) love for one another, respect for each other – common human values. While a person’s religion is very personal, the common values of humanity make us all one.
Not for me. I’m not very religious personally. But this does not mean religion cannot work with science. Science answers how things happen, but they do not wonder why things happen. There is a whole study of the Whys called the philosophy of science, and religion does play a role in this field.
Not at all. It doesn’t matter what religion you are, anybody can be a scientist. Religion can be a very important factor in how I treat my patients though, it’s vital that when someone is in intensive care that I respect their religious wishes and help them to continue in practising their religious views and beliefs. Sometimes religion does change the way we deliver treatment, for example Jehovah’s witnesses cannot accept a blood transfusion or Muslims do not tend to donate their organs after death. Considering peoples values is a really important part of caring for them.
