I do think testing on animals, particularly when they get hurt, is very cruel because they have no choice. But on the other hand I do understand that to have new drugs and to make sure they are safe for humans we do have to test them on animals sometimes. I would never ever want an animal to be hurt so I would only want them to be tested on with products that are seen to be safe.
If testing on one animal could show that a drug to cure cancer is safe, should we do it? That’s a hard one.

Needless testing of products on animals (like make-up)? Absolutely! Testing to save a life – and that includes other animals? However distasteful I find that, I have to say we need to do it – at this point in time there is simply no alternative. I think one day, when we better understand how to mimic body systems using computer models, those will replace live testing, but we’re not there yet.
